Weekly round up... 12.07.26

It's been another glorious sunny week in North Devon...

Slow Sunday allowed me to head down to Barricane Beach early for a cup of tea and a bacon butty before work. It's one of my favourite places early in the summer and on the way back up the slope I snapped this photo...

The blues were just busting out, intense, bold and absorbing, I just had to immortalise that feeling of summer heat, the call of the sea and that luscious foreground foliage!

I do enjoy creating those bold colours and building the layers and textures of the foliage, aiming to create the essence of that tangle of bramble, leaf and flower with splashes of paint and scratches and splatters.

It's just waiting to be varnished, photographed and framed and then it  will be available to buy. Would this painting bring back those heady days of summer by the beach for you?
