Look who's exhibiting...
I recently entered 3 of my lino prints into this exhibition and I'm pleased to say that one was chosen to be shown alongside a great variety of other print makers from the South West.
The exhibition is being held at Studio Kind in Braunton which is a lovely studio and gallery space holding varied exhibitions and workshops year round.
My Pebble Stack was the print chosen by curator Laura.
The exhibition is open Wednesdays - Sundays until 15th October.
Artist statement:
My lino prints are a way of exploring my own connection to nature, often including links to moments in time when the natural world has stopped me in my tracks and shown me a glimpse of it's serene beauty and wisdom.
The simplicity of the lino cutting technique reduces something so complex as the natural world down to a single colour or a single shape which then gives the viewer space to slip into their own memories and interactions.
'Nature is watching' are a series of works exploring this theme.
The simple smooth texture of a pebble on the beach holding within all the years of time and tide, the silent flight of the barn owl at dusk evoking magic and mystery and a yearning for connection. When wandering, looking and listening it crossed my mind, is nature watching me too?
